Celebrate September 2012!

There is much to celebrate in September!  Who knew?  Cheese pizza, chocolate milkshakes and so much more.  Here is a list and few ideas so you and your family can celebrate everyday like a holiday!

September 5th-National Cheese Pizza Day-Here is an easy pizza recipe..MCP Pizza Recipe

September 12th-National Chocolate Milkshake Day.  I would have a chocolate milkshake with your cheese pizza and then have cheese pizza with the chocolate milkshake.

September 13th-Scooby Doo's birthday (1969)  Scooby Dooby Doo, where are you?

September 13th-Roald Dahl's birthday.  Roald Dahl wrote Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  Watch the movie!  I prefer the Willy Wonka version...it's a good day to watch the movie and eat unreasonable amounts of chocolate.  Here is the official Roald Dahl website  http://www.roalddahl.com/

September 15th-Tomie dePaola is one of my favorite children's authors and today is his birthday.  Read Strega Nona and make a big pot of pasta to celebrate!  Here is Tomie's official site http://www.tomie.com/

September 16th-Today is Collect Rocks Day.  I am not making this up!

September 18th-National Play-Doh day.  We make our own at MCP.  Here is the recipe...Perfect Playdough  and More Playdough

September 19th-Swab the decks and walk the plank!  It is International Talk Like A Pirate Day.  Click for some funny jokes and riddles---Pirate Jokes  What Star Wars character is really a pirate?  Arrrrrgh...2-D2!

September 26th--is Johnny Appleseed's Birthday.  Not sure how the apple picking will be but you can have applesauce for dinner, apple pie, apple juice and apple muffins.

Have some fun with your family!
