The Very Hungry Caterpillar 2014

It is a busy week with our friends in the TTh class. We have Easter projects for the children but we will also be providing many Very Hungry Caterpillar activities that will continue after the Easter holiday break.  Today the children listened to the story and made a caterpillar.  This was a class project so all children made a Very Hungry Caterpillar. On Thursday, we will create the beautiful butterfly.

We also acted out the VHC by crawling and 'eating' all the fruit and foods.  We curled up into a cocoon and then nibbled out to become a beautiful butterfly.   We will have lacing and painting projects after the holiday break.  These will be a center time activity and available to all children but remember not all children will choose to do these activities.  Take a sneak peak---http://metamoracommunityprek.blogspot.com/2013/04/hungry-caterpillars-and-beautiful.html

A new activity has been added to our VHCaterpillar unit.  This project is available to the children during center time (again personal choices...so your child might not choose this activity).  A long piece of poster board (about 10-12 inches long),  a basket of green construction paper scraps. paint samples and tissue papers craps, a red head, antennae  and glue make a pretty cute caterpillar.
