Mr. Roboto

I have said it before and I will say it again--I LOVE THE DOLLAR STORE!  In our local dollar store, there is an educational section that always has great die-cuts for the classroom.  I found these robots and we included them during letter R week a few weeks ago.  Stickers were nuts, bolts and screws. The kids loved it and as an added bonus they get to press the easy button.  I have found owls, birthday cakes and many other die-cuts for a dollar!  The package has anywhere from 36-48 pieces. We also use the the Child Care Connection library in Peoria for die-cuts like the elephants we used for counting during our Elmer unit http://metamoracommunityprek.blogspot.com/2015/02/elmer-2015.html

We use this type of activity for counting a lot in our program.  A cute die-cut, a written number and some fun motivational stickers (these come several hundred in a package and in our area usually cost under $4.)  You could also write the number and have students count out real nuts, bolts and screws.  This is a center activity that children are able to choose.
