Ice Ice Baby 2014

More ideas---
*Use vocabulary words like liquid, solid and temperature.  Our MWF classes are familiar with these concepts from our liquid/solid science unit. 
*Count the ice blocks before you sculpt.
*Measure the sculpture height.
*Estimate how long it will take the bowls to freeze.  Use small and large bowls and ask which do you think will freeze first?  Why?
*Estimate how long the sculpture will last before melting
*Talk about the word 'sculpture' (this is an upcoming unit w/our MWF classes)  How is a sculpture different than a painting or  drawing?
*Search ice sculptures on the Internet and see some amazing images!

Keep warm and watch the news for school closings because of severe temperatures.
