Our piggy bank is a popular activity in our discovery center. This is a fun counting activity and easy enough to do at home. You need a bank, pennies or lots of coins and some dice.
For younger children, roll one dice and have them put the correct amount of pennies in the bank (it's a small motor activity, too). For older preschoolers, roll two dice counting up to twelve.
Grade school children? Have them join the fun. They can subtract or multiply the two numbers and use a variety of coins to create their answer.
