You Can't Catch Me!

Our preK students have started a unit on fairy tales.  This week we read The Gingerbread Man, The Gingerbread Girl and The Gingerbread Cowboy.  On Friday, each student created their gingerbread person.  We provided gingerbread cut outs, markers, googly eyes, beads, construction paper, scissors and glue. We also had die-cuts (baseball caps, buttons, umbrellas and more) for the children and they did the rest!

After each story, we had a large chart and the children answered questions. I wrote the answers and we also spelled 'yes' and 'no' together.   Ask your child...Was the story about a gingerbread man?   Where did the story take place?  Who chased the gingerbread?  Was there a bad guy?  Did the gingerbread get eaten?

A list of the books for you to enjoy at home!

Want to do more?  Gingerbread isn't just for Christmas.  Mix up a batch of gingerbread and make your own gingerbread person with your child or just get some gingersnaps to taste.
