Outwit, Outlast, Outplay-Christmas Vacation Survival Ideas

Today is the first day of the winter break in our area and already parents are preparing for the inevitable "I'm bored" and Christmas chaos.  This is not a new problem. Bing Crosby sang about the school break in 1951.  You know the line from It's Beginning to Look a  Lot Like Christmas  "and Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again."   It's been a parent problem for decades.

So here are some ideas to  help you survive the holidays and keep the Christmas spirit in your house. Be prepared, gather supplies and enjoy this time with your child.

You either love it or hate it in your house--- Play Dough Recipes

The link on this blog post that goes to the recipe is gone but I'm  sure there is a 'pin' for this soapy dough recipe.

Candy (don't  fight it. Make it a teachable moment))---

The Grinch---

Get out of the house---

New to the area... The PNC Winterfest!

Make pizza.

Fun & Games--- This game can quickly adapted to practice math facts, vocabulary words, letters and more.

Playing cardholder---

Make a snowman kit (easily purchased but what fun is that?)---

Make an I SPY bottle for home or gifts.
