Let's Color!
We love sensory bottles at MCP. These bottles are new addition to our classroom. Most of the items were found in art supplies---pom poms, feathers, beads, old marker caps, small birthday, candles, ribbon, rick rack, pipe cleaners, balloons, buttons and more.

MWF Classes---What's Happening?
We decorate our letter of the week.
Sensory tubs are messy fun for our preschoolers!
We are learning how to use scissors. We are cutting leaves for our fall tree. After we cut the leaf, we make a tally mark and press the 'easy button.'
There's more...

Welcome to New York!
What a fun adventure in America this week with our MWF classes. We have two small Statue of Liberty souvenir statues in our art center and one of our kiddos drew Lady Liberty.
The children glued stripes, added the blue paper and office stickers to create a red, white and blue craft for America. We love the USA.
We took a quick trip to the Statue of Liberty.
Then we went to the White House for a tour and saw the Red Room and the Blue Room. It's really pretty and pretty fancy!

Maps are fun at the easel!
We are singing America the Beautiful, the Star Spangled Banner and This Land Is Your Land. You can find many child friendly sing-a-long videos on YouTube. You can also sing Your a Grand Old Flag and Yankee Doodle.

Don't Stick Your Finger Up Your Nose
Yes, we have been singing a song about sticking your finger up your nose. I'd love to take credit for this little ditty but this delightful song was introduced to MCP last year by our assistant director. I love 'er! Now, who knew this is a REAL song with lyrics you can easily find with a quick Google search---

and watch on YouTube!

Now at MCP, we did alter the lyrics just a bit...
Don't stick your finger up your nose,
'Cause your nose knows it's not the place it goes.
You can sniffle, you can sneeze, ACHOOO!
But please I'm begging you--please--
Don't stick your finger up your nose.
We are working really hard to keep our children at MCP clean and healthy!

Leaves Change Color
We enjoy providing group projects for the children at MCP. Our MWF classes created a beautiful fall tree. A large piece of cardboard painted light blue...
Teacher painted tree...
Students added green grass...
Students added fall leaves found at the dollar store...
Our fall tree is finished!

The Family Art Gallery 2015
There is a not refrigerator or bulletin board big enough to hold all your child's art. What to do with it all? There are thousands and thousands of ideas. Here are few more---

Best Time Ever!
Has your child been telling you about their school day? or when you ask about their day do you get "I don't know." or "I don't remember." or "I forgot." We hope this sheet will spark some conversation with you and your child!

This Land Is Your Land
You will travel in a land of marvels.
Jules Verne
Our MWF classes are learning about our country! We have talked about the President, his family and his two dogs. Where does the President live? He lives in the White House. We also saw some pictures of the Statue of Liberty and an eagle.
We used red, white and blue to make a patriotic craft.
We had a special snack on Wednesday. On Monday, we chopped apples for applesauce. Did your child like the applesauce?
Do you have friends or family that would send us a postcard from overseas? Check it out---

Pete the Cat
This week our TTh 3 y/o class had fun with colors and Pete the Cat. After we read Pete the Cat I Love My New White Shoes, our 3 y/o listened and followed directions to make Pete the Cat. What good listeners!
Pete stepped into strawberries, blueberries and mud. We mushed and pushed 'mud' all over the art table.
For snack, we had strawberries, blueberries and mud (chocolate pudding). It was a fun week with Pete the Cat.

Come Over to My House
Our MWF preK classes are getting ready for an amazing adventure. During the school year, we will 'travel' to many countries around the world. We will begin our travels in America. We introduce many concepts---
*we show students a globe and a map
*we introduce the word sphere
*we will talk about the name of our country, our state and town and also our flag
*we talk about how a map and a globe are the same and how they are different
*we talk about the oceans
*we talk about that there are children all over the world
*and much much more.
So, today we looked at the globe and the map. We talked about countries. We learned the name of our country is the United States of America. We looked at our flag and talked about the colors, the pattern and counted the stripes. One friend in our morning class had a flag on his shirt!
Well, where do we live? We live in a house. Our craft was a house. When we create crafts at MCP, there is a lot of talk about shapes and colors and following directions. The children glued the roof on the house and then added doors and windows.
Come over my house! Come over and play!
