Country Roads

Last year our preK students built a city.
This year we are out in the country.   I painted grass and sky.  Students glued a fence.

I added a barn and some silos. Students colored and glued farm animals.

Creating with Colors

Our TTh class is working with shapes and colors.  We are also learning how to use glue!  Shapes and colors make colorful art (when the glue dries, of course.)

Lots of glue and lots of we glue squares!

We're painting with circles, too!

Shapes and colors are everywhere.  Have fun looking for shapes and colors with your child everyday!

B is for Busy, Busy, Busy Bees

Our goal at MCP is to create an environment that engages your child in a unique way.  During center time, we offer a lot of choices and the children are free to choose an activity that interests them.  These activities will change from week to week.

For our MWF preK classes---

Each week we will decorate a letter.

Fall is just around the corner.

B is for bus.  We love to press the 'easy button'.

LEGO letters help us practice our ABC's.

We Played in the Mud!

It's been a fun week with Pete the Cat and our 3 y/o. Today we played in the mud (not really. It's pudding!)  The children were such good listeners.  They pushed and mushed the pudding all over the table. We cleaned up and had 'mud', strawberries and blueberries for snack. More fun with Pete the Cat next week!

A-Apples and America

This week our MWF classes begin their world travels!  Throughout the school year, we will:
  • learn the name of our planet, our country, our state and our town.
  • identify the US flag.
  • learn the difference between a map and a globe.
  • use large maps to find our country and the countries we 'visit'.
  • locate oceans on the map.
  • introduce the concept of the equator, North Pole and South Pole.
  • learn that there are children all over the world going to school, playing with toys, getting ready for bed and more.
  • learn that our world has many languages and accents (Mrs. Q is very bad at accents so it's pretty funny).
  • create lots of world crafts.
On Friday, we made a house.  Our school crafts help our students become really good listeners.  We also talk about colors, shapes and positional words (top, bottom, inside, etc.)  This project is purposely simple.  A roof, a door and two windows!  Lots of smiles!  Lots of success!

It's going to be a fun Letter A week with America and apples!
